The fifth WriXAs ceremony was hosted in May 2013 and included long term projects such as The Avenue, City Girls, These Days and Uncertain Nights as well as new projects including Cold Blood, Diamond Days, Families, High Hopes, Park Close and Peaks & Troughs.

Noxy certainly had an... interesting dilemma with this category - himself vs. himself! Although fans raved about Spike Cooper's shocking attack scene, in the end they voted for Holly Wainwright's Death as their BEST SOAP SCENE, with a decisive 62.5% of the vote to give These Days it's second WRIXA of the night - and 23rd altogether. Impressively The Avenue made a breakthrough this season picking up not only its first WriXA, but a whopping three awards. These Days continued it's winning streak with five gongs, while new project High Hopes took away two. Cold Blood sweeped the dramas category picking up a cracking six awards while City Girls took away one.
