television winter season on
ABC as a midseason replacement. The first season contained eight episodes and ran from February 7, 2012 to March 20, 2012. On May 11, 2012, ABC cancelled the series.

Following the show's cancellation, which was due to its sub-par ratings, it was reported that Netflix were in talks with ABC Studios about possibly continuing the series on its video-on-demand digital distribution service. They ultimately passed.

On November 17, 2013, it was announced that Caller Productions would continue the series in a written format, to be posted on an internet forum called Writer's Express, after agreeing a continuation deal with ABC Studios. Caller Productions is set to produce thirteen episodes for the show's second season, which is planned to be posted from late 2013.

Season 1 Edit

When famed explorer Dr. Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood) goes looking for "magic" deep in the uncharted Amazon basin and doesn't return, he is presumed dead by both those closest to him and his many fans who grew up watching his nature show. Lincoln (Joe Anderson), his son, never really felt close to him and seems to regret how they left their relationship. Six months after his disappearance, Lincoln is finally ready to move on when suddenly Dr. Cole's emergency beacon goes off. At the urging of his mother and Dr. Cole's wife, Tess (Leslie Hope), Lincoln reluctantly joins her on a search to find his father. To fund the rescue, the pair agree to let Dr. Cole's cagey ex-producer, Clark Quietly (Paul Blackthorne), film the mission documentary-style to pass on to a television network. Tess and Lincoln also recruit a mixed crew of old friends and new acquaintances including the missing cameraman's daughter, Lena Landry (Eloise Mumford), Magus mechanic Emilio Valenzuela (Daniel Zacapa) and private security bodyguard Captain Kurt Brynildson (Thomas Kretschmann). Once they arrive in the Amazon basin, strange happenings begin to occur in the hunt to find Emmet.
